Analysis of power conversion limitation factors of Cu (InxGa1−x) (Se)2 thin-film solar cells using SCAPS

Abstract While the first generation of silicon solar cells offers a clean and unlimited energy source, technology has matured where costs dominate, theoretical power conversion efficiency is reaching its limits. The new thin-film emerging as an affordable alternative to their bulky counterparts. much cheaper method quickly fabricate that use less material with good optical electronic properties on wide range substrates, including flexible materials. In particular, Cu (In x Ga 1− ) (Se) 2 are investigated using SCAPS simulation study impact series resistance doping levels different layers cell structure short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage, efficiency, fill factor. It was found increase in results decrease dependency light intensities. addition, level absorber buffer plays significant role controlling cell’s factor values maximum when acceptor approximately equal donor levels.
